Medicine, travels, and moments caught on the run.

I am a medical oncologist, scientist, Professor at the Medical University of Gdańsk, and President of the Polish League Against Cancer. Beyond the clinic, my great passions are distant travels, exploring the world, and sports, which accompany me every day. I am the author of the book „Zatrzymane w biegu”, and privately a husband, father of three, and grandfather of five.

For over half a century, my professional life has been tied to medicine, science, and the Medical University of Gdańsk, where I chaired the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy for more than three decades. In my research and clinical practice, I focus primarily on lung and breast cancer. As the founder and President of the Polish League Against Cancer, I have long advocated for modern prevention, health education, and evidence-based medicine.

I have always found balance from my medical and academic work in movement and on the road. Travel is a great passion of mine, bringing back photographs, memories, and notes from my journeys. I cannot imagine life without sport and regular physical activity.

I described my experiences—including the time I found myself on the other side of the doctor's desk as a patient—in my book "Zatrzymane w biegu". I created this website to share my writings, public commentary, and accounts from my travels.
